Former Senator Don Nickles and his wife Linda
served as the chairpeople for the event. The gala hosted 424 attendees, along with 20 volunteers, at the historic Skirvin Hotel in downtown
OKC last Thursday.

The gala held a live and a silent
auction, raising $27,900 and $11,556  respectively, for a total of $39,456.

The Swiss vacation getaway
alone raised $7,500. The proceeds from the auctions goes toward
building new wells in Africa with each well costing $1,000.

The small price for building a
community well that will provide clean water for remote areas was a
heartfelt reminder for attendees of the effort needed to do something
worthwhile.

Richard Greenly, co-founder of Water4,
was excited about the event.

“We hope people will take away this
evening the idea that each one can get involved and be a part of the
world’s water crisis fix — each Oklahoman — so we’re really glad
everybody’s here.”
