Last week, Judge Noma Gurich issued a temporary injunction blocking the enforcement of House Bill 2780, which would force a vaginal ultrasound on most women seeking abortion services so that they can be better educated and make a more informed decision.
This is a real blow for Oklahoma women. We should embrace this new law and expand upon it. We should be installing these devices everywhere so that women can self-probe whenever necessary to help her understand church sermons, college lectures, make critical work decisions and weigh their options in grocery and department stores. By not running with our legislators' solution to help women in Oklahoma understand information and make informed decisions, we are denying our women the opportunity to gain a major advantage over our peers across America.
