The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments is seeking regional partners for the HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant program. Announced last week, the program is designed to create economically competitive, healthy, opportunity-rich communities.
Grants will be awarded competitively to regional partnerships comprised of state and local governments, metropolitan planning organizations, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations and philanthropic organizations. ACOG, the greater Oklahoma City region's designated metropolitan planning organization, hopes to foster long-term relationships between entities in the region who may not have traditionally worked together in the past.
"We are conscious of the connections between housing, land-use, economic and workforce development and transportation through our planning work. A sustainable communities regional plan would address these issues, and improve our quality of life in Central Oklahoma," said John G. Johnson, ACOG executive director.
Application deadline is Aug. 23. For more information, contact John G. Johnson (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Nicolle Franklin (email@example.com) at 234-2264.
