American Indian health tour making OKC stop

"A Healthier US Starts Here" bus tour will be stopping at the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic on Friday to:

" promote disease prevention,

" offer medical services and testing,

" award prizes, and

" provide health information.

 

Sponsored by The Department of Health and Human Services, the tour coincides with the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic's Urban Indian Art of Healing Festival. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the clinic, 4913 W. Reno.

 

PRIZES AND SERVICES

Over the course of the day, drawings will be held for prizes including a:

" flat-screen TV,

" iPod, and

" barbecue grill.

 

Booths and demonstrations will be held by a variety of local wellness organizations. Services offered for registered patients include:

" well child exams,

" mammograms,

" glaucoma screenings, and

" blood glucose screenings.
