Year-round bikini weather
The new location for Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill will be 2747 W. Memorial. The franchise, based out of Austin, offers American fare such as chicken, steak, hot wings and tacos. The waitstaff will wear the official Bikinis uniform: cut-off shorts and, of course, its signature bikini tops. In addition to food and service, Bikinis has plenty of room for watching sports events. An easy vote

“Oh, my gosh,” said Billie Baird after winning $25,000 in the Love a Local Business contest. Baird and her daughter, Abbi, own and operate Abbi Kate’s Cupcakes, an online cupcake company offering delivery in the metro area. The gals are one of nine national finalists and have until Dec. 31 to pick up another 25 grand — if they get enough votes. Visit bit.ly/stnCqV or text “abbikates” to 244326, and then visit abbikatescupcakes.com.

Two recent auctions were held involving the now-closed Panera Bread at 2035 S. Meridian and Maria’s Mexican Restaurant at 620 N.W. Fifth in Moore.

A new Panera Bread is opening — hopefully tomorrow — in the Wastage Shopping Center, 6410 S.W. Third, and will have a drive-thru.

Spice up the new year
The Dale Rogers Training Center in Oklahoma City recently partnered with Cedar Hill Seasonings of Edmond to create Prairie Spice, a new line of seasonings aimed at benefiting Oklahomans with disabilities.

The spices are custom-blended by Cedar Hills and packaged at Dale Rogers, a vocational training center for individuals with disabilities.

Choose from sets like Garlic Gusher, Toasted Onion, Oklahoma Heat and Prairie Blend. Each spice kit is $21.95 and contains a recipe card for Chuck Wagon Chicken and Country Beef and Noodles, along with a special message from one of the Dale Rogers individuals who packaged the products.

“Dale Rogers is one of the oldest and largest nonprofits in Oklahoma,” said Gayle Curry, graphics and public relations coordinator at DR.

“By selling Prairie Spices, we are able to help support our organization and people with disabilities by offering our own products. It is very good and in an adorable package,” Curry said.
