Its "plot keywords" on the Internet Movie Database strongly hint at its level of intelligence "? "hit in crotch," "decapitation," "incest overtones" "? but Ferrell is its not-so-secret weapon.
The man has a way with making lines hit that would bomb if emerging from anyone else's mouth. If you dig his thing "? and admittedly, he's not for everyone "? you'll likely find "Blades" to be an amiable 90 minutes. Ditto for the voluminous extras, most notable for Ferrell's usual horde of ad-libbed alternate takes.
