BMW test-drives raise money for breast cancer research

On Saturday, you can test-drive a BMW without intention to take one home with absolutely no injury to the conscience, because for every mile you drive, $1 is donated to breast cancer research.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the 11th Annual BMW Ultimate Drive will hand over the keys to one of 19 titanium silver BMWs to members of the public to test-drive. The donation will help support breast cancer education, screening and community outreach.

"Breast cancer is still the most common form of cancer among women," said Hala Moddelmog, president and chief executive officer of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, in a press release. "The BMW Ultimate Drive has helped fund essential research and crucial services for patients, survivors, and their families over the past 10 years."

DONATIONS
Once completed, the program will have visited 237 BMW centers nationwide, from March to October, aiming to raise $1 million after logging one million miles.

The cars are specially decorated with pink modernist maps that illustrate the tour's route, starting in Georgia and ending in Arizona.

"Nearly 300,000 people have participated in the program over the past 10 years, and this year, 237 communities " and thousands of supporters in the fight against breast cancer nationwide " will have the opportunity to become involved," said Tom Purves, chairman and CEO, BMW of North America.

The event will take place at Jackie Cooper BMW at 14145 N. Broadway Ext. in Edmond. "Lauren Hopkins
