While he recalls Odd Future and Childish Gambino ("Beautiful," "Rappin' Ass") in some moments, and Drake and Kendrick Lamar (the remarkably produced "Everything I Want," "Ask Me If I ..."), Burnz is very much his own rapper. He's a lewd and crude dude cheeky at moments, more thoughtful in others but seemingly most concerned with making good-time music.
Standout "Mardi Gras Party" is the sort of genre-blending, infectious fun you could slot right in between Shwayze's "Buzzin'" and Asher Roth's "I Love College" without skipping a beat. Where most rappers would come off uneven with Air Jordans on one foot and a sandal on the other, Burnz takes it right in stride.
