Lopez, director of the Norman-based company, said that his love of TV helped inspire the idea for Audivero.

“I’m very much a TV-oriented person,” Lopez said. “I thought it would be cool if there was some kind of app that allowed you to stream TV to your phone.”

The app lets users hear what they want on a participating establishment’s sets. Audivero downloaders can earn coupons — such as a free appetizer or a half-priced beer — simply through app use.

Lopez said the idea and development of the app was a team effort with programmer Chuck Downs. The app is available for iPhones and the Android market.

The Audivero system currently is in use at Sooner Legends in Norman and all area BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse locations, with more to follow, both locally and nationwide.

Lopez said that so far, the public’s reception for Audivero has been good.

“We’ve gone to a couple of restaurants and shows in the northeast,” he said. “Some people have approached us, saying they want to sell it. There’s very much an excitement around this product. There’s nothing really like it out there. Everybody we’ve spoken with is in love with the idea.” —Alyssa Grimley
