CFN Quote of the Week

"The swine flu scare is the latest in a string of panics about possible pandemics that include the West Nile virus, SARS and the avian flu. None of them, though, have been hyped with such consistency and intensity as the swine flu.

"Using these figures, on average, 3,000 people die per month from the flu in the United States and between 21,000 and 42,000 people die per month worldwide. While many like myself feel that both the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and (World Health Organization) have exaggerated numbers, one can easily see that the number of H1N1 deaths pales compared to the estimate of the death toll of the seasonal flu.

"So far, I have been unable to find any statistics showing this flu is any more dangerous than any other flu, despite considerable time searching for this information."
