As the senior member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, Oklahomas beloved U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe has already become the stuff of both satire and draining sadness by simply existing.
Though the fact that a climate change denier is on the Senate committee is ironic in itself, Inhofe wasted no time making his service more so by calling the recent U.S.-China climate deal a non-binding charade.
The climate deal, according to Inhofe, will require the U.S. to more steeply reduce carbon emissions while China wont have to reduce anything.
If America, whose economy is currently the most robust in the world, fails to show an appetite for a healthy climate by pledging to have healthier carbon emissions regardless of its economic impact, then why would any other country bother doing so?
Heres an idea: He could work within his power to help the U.S. create a healthier climate via economic practicality.
You know, lead by example.
