Oklahoma residents had a whole lot on their minds when they entered voting booths last week. Many had multiple ballots, dozens of categories and candidates and over a half-dozen state questions to consider.
They earned those felt-tipped pens. Or they were just so exhausted after performing their civic duty that they left as quickly as possible.
And just like when we sign for copays when we visit a doctor, voters inadvertently walked away with a whole bunch of Tulsa County Election Boards pens, Tulsa news outlet NewsOn6.com reported at 9:03 a.m. Nov. 8, aka Election Day.
