For "Cowboy Up," Oklahoma Judge Kim D. Parrish was granted unprecedented access to the Oklahoma State University wrestling team in his account of what an entire season for these athletes is like. He couldn't have picked a better time than the 2004-05 stint, which turned out to be what coach John Smith called "the greatest in our history."

During that time, the Cowboys captured both the NCAA and Big 12 championship titles. Although we know the outcome, Parrish's you-are-there perspective still gives the story behind-the-scenes drama.

Heavy on photographs, statistics and "? let's be honest "? inflated importance, Parrish's report is likely every OSU fan's dream. Parrish writes that he's trained in law, not journalism, which may account for too-lengthy quotes and paragraphs, but for those who follow the team or the sport in general, that's not a bad thing.
