There are bandits on the loose, and they've got it in for a girl's best friend. According to a story in The Oklahoman, two Israeli diamond dealers, Daniel Amnon Singer and his father Aron Chaim Singer, were robbed at a convenience store in Oklahoma City after visiting a Norman jewelry store.
Oklahoma City police Sgt. Paco Balderrama told The Oke that three white men attacked while one of the Singer men was inside the convenience store. They broke a window in the car, with the other Singer still sitting in it, and pulled two suitcases full of diamonds " Balderrama said it was "a large sum" " from the back seat and took off.
Apparently, according to Norman jewelry store owner Glenn Lewis, this isn't the first jewelry caper. He said robberies of traveling salesmen have been on the increase in the last few years.
Wait. Back up. Traveling salesmen? Really? When was the last time a stranger knocked on your door and tried to sell you a vacuum? Traveling religion peddlers trying to share with you the good news of Jesus Christ don't count. Anyway, Lewis said the diamond thefts really are becoming a problem, so much so that some traveling salesmen are hiring armed guards.
