Eskimo Joe's is celebrating its 32nd birthday this week with six days of:
" live music,
" theme parties,
" giveaways, and
" food and drink specials.
Stillwater's "jumpin' little juke joint" also will unveil the commemorative edition of its most popular item: the Eskimo Joe's T-shirt.
"Our theme this year is 'Sweet Home Oklahoma,' tying to the fact that it is our centennial year, and Eskimo Joe's has become a well-known Oklahoma institution, with people from all over the state wearing our shirts," said Stan Clark, founder and president of Eskimo Joe's.
On Wednesday, the "Joe Down Ho Down" will bring in Stillwater band No Justice. Thursday night's "Eighties Prom Night" travels back in time with retro duds and music by Sexton 8. The weekend kicks off Friday with "Biker Night" and an outdoor kids' carnival 8-11 a.m. Saturday. Something Steel will play at Saturday night's "Luau Beach Party."
Throughout the week, visitors will have the chance to win prizes and trips. Clark and Eskimo Joe's artist Mike Staubus will be on site Saturday signing T-shirts.
"There's not a day that's not going to be a lot of fun," Clark said. "There's something for everybody that week, that's for sure."
Eskimo Joe's is located at 501 W. Elm in Stillwater. For a complete list of events, visit the site. "Lauren Hopkins
