- Jimmys Egg
Oklahoma Citys ubiquitous smiling egg continues to crack into the rest of the U.S. market as Jimmys Egg opened its 50th location April 11 in Springfield, MO.
Started as a single location by Jim Newman, the business was purchased by Vietnamese refugee Loc Le in 1980. Since taking over, Les Jimmys Egg has grown rapidly in recent years, with multiple stores in Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Texas. The chain was recognized as one of the fastest growing small chains in Restaurant Business Magazine last year.
President Kevin Burke said the restaurant chain is dedicated to serving cooked-to-order breakfasts and keeping cups of coffee full. That formula has led to 15 successful Oklahoma City locations, including the original at 1616 N. May Ave.

Chef Kurt Fleischfresser is getting back to his roots with Aprils wine dinner 6:30 p.m. Friday at Vast, 333 W. Sheridan Ave..
A long-time student of French cooking, he designed the menu for LAmour du Vin with hints of French style, while retaining the signature flair of Vast.
The $95 seat dinner includes a five-course meal and a selection of wines from four French winemakers. Representatives of each winery will be on hand to discuss the chosen vintage and food pairings.
We have been fortunate to host some French winemakers recently, Fleischfresser said. So I try to impress them and everyone else benefits.
