Food to flip over

For an early morning get up and go, the body needs fuel. After you change out of your pajamas, here are a few good suggestions that will make you lick your lips. And these are some places where you don’t need a wad of money as big as a beach ball.

Kristi’s Cafe
4401 N.W. 23rd 949-9970

At Kristi’s, the doors swing open when the birds start chirping around 6:30 a.m. The food here is like a Snuggie for your stomach, and it’s the Spanish omelet that has everyone buzzing. This used to be the site of a Mexican restaurant, but no more, as it is a casual, inexpensive spot with a staff that is ready to please.
