Ford Center hosts 'Revolve Tour: All Access'

An action-packed weekend for teen girls starts Friday night and continues Saturday at Revolve Tour: All Access, two days of live Christian music, skits and speakers on topics like relationships, body image, self-esteem and faith in God. The event is designed for sixth to 12th grade girls.

"It's an extremely exciting and fun event. It brings all these girls together for one cause," said event spokeswoman Denise Lepow, "It offers a mix of entertainment and inspiration to build their self-esteem and help them through life's challenges."

The event tours in 16 cities this year, and about 213,000 teens have attended since its 2005 origin. Produced by Thomas Nelson Live Events, it began upon the request of those who attended the company's Women of Faith conferences.

"They wanted the experience for their daughters," Lepow said. "The Revolve Tour helps girls to build healthy relationships, not only with their peers, but also with adults."

The event encourages girls to be strong, independent women without preaching, but through entertainment like comedy skits, Lepow said. This year's featured artists include Grammy Award nominee Hawk Nelson, Natalie Grant, Chad Eastham, Group 1 Crew, Danielle Kimmey, Jenna Lucado and Krystal Meyers.

The Revolve Tour is from 7-10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Ford Center, 100 W. Reno. Admission is $64. Call (877) 973-8658.
