Freedom to use the best medicine for him



Regarding "The curious case of Will Foster" (News, Scott Cooper, Nov. 4, 2009, Gazette):

Will Foster now sits in a cold, concrete cell in the Oklahoma County jail. His arthritic condition will no doubt be treated by the drugs that we, the taxpayers of this state, will be paying for. We have paid for six years of incarceration, numerous trials and now a trip for two officers to go get him from California. We are paying the Oklahoma County jail to feed him and clothe him.

How much are we going to spend on one man just wanting to use the medicine of his own choice? Seems like I've heard in the news that the Department of Corrections is out of money. I guess for everything but putting more people in.
