Java Daves
1433 E. Danforth, Edmond

This is the second Java Daves that Bruce and Mindy Baldwin have opened in Edmond. The first, 9 S. Broadway, has a cozy feel, and this new one is a small, stand-alone building that used to house Emerald City Coffee just in front of Aspen Athletic Club. Head to this newest Java Daves to pick up muffins, bagels, drip coffee, teas and smoothies all easy breakfast stuff, says Mindy.

Remis Pizza
1615 S. Mustang Road, Yukon
577-2000
Youll remember Remis, which is named after the co-owners son, Remington, because it not only serves pizza and calzone, but smokes its own ribs and brisket on weekends. (But keep watching, that could turn into a permanent thing soon.) Now reopened, Remis started doing business just before Christmas and has seating for 24. Dine in, grab carryout or have it delivered (in a limited area).

Jr.s Pancake House
636 N. Broadway, Moore
237-3693
Pancakes are on the menu for sure, but its the fluffy omelets that the new customers like. Just opened for a few weeks, the difference is in the way owner Junior Sernas blends his eggs before he makes an omelet. Both breakfast and lunch are being served. You name it, weve got it, said Sernas, who visited Oklahoma and liked it so much he came back and opened up this restaurant.

Boom-a-rang Diner
3929 N. College, Bethany
495-9100
Nope, youre not seeing double. Boom-a-rang Diner has opened yet another restaurant in the metro. This one in Bethany just started welcoming customers a few weeks ago. Check out this spot on Friday, when Boom-a-rangs all-you-can-eat fried catfish reigns as king. The cube steak for the chicken-fried steak is hand-pounded and hand-battered on site, just like Moms. What a deal.
