This year, Gazette’s Halloween Parade will showcase many entertaining floats and walking groups. Live bands, film and arts groups, media, zombies, local businesses and even out-of-state participants will turn up the volume.

Ben Harjo, Steve Hill, Heather Paul, Romy Owens, Chris Stinchcomb and Matt Goad will serve on this year’s esteemed judges’ panel. The judges will select a first-, second- and third-place winner based on creativity, originality and, of course, artistry! Parade emcees are Liz Dueweke and Deeda Payton of KOKH Fox 25.

Gazette’s Halloween Parade has been recognized by Creative Oklahoma Inc. as a “great inspiration” in setting an example of stimulating creative thought and action in Oklahoma. The community rallies around the event, as merchants and restaurant owners along the route in Midtown and Automobile Alley engage spectators before and after the parade with open houses and special events.

The parade debuts a new route this year, with staging taking place on N. Broadway Ave. between N.W. 13th and N.W. 10th streets, heading south. The parade starts at N.W. 10th and Broadway, and moves west on N.W. 10th to turn south on N. Walker Ave. Turning east on N.W. Sixth, the parade will turn back north on N. Broadway, ending where it began, at N.W. 10th and N. Broadway Ave. A map can be found on the parade's official website.

The trail of terror rolls into action at 7 p.m., just as darkness falls, and is expected to take approximately two hours to complete.

The parade is made possible via the support of local businesses. Presenting sponsors are Automobile Alley, Midtown and St. Anthony. Sponsorship is also provided by BancFirst, Kirkpatrick Foundation, Party Galaxy and Tinker Federal Credit Union, with additional support from BMI + ImageNet, Downtown OKC Inc., Iguana Mexican Grill, Corsair Management, Precor Realty Advisors, SandRidge, Guinness Black, Ravenswood and the official spirit of the parade: Jagermeister. KOKH Fox 25 is Oklahoma Gazette’s media partner.

Gazette’s Halloween Parade Window Decorating Contest is going on now. The winning entry receives a complimentary advertising campaign in Oklahoma Gazette. Details and entry information may be found here. Deadline for photo submission is Oct. 14 and voting continues until Oct. 26. The contest is sponsored by Party Galaxy.
