Group lobbies for Norman Music Festival inclusion

Local musician Chris Cody has expressed his approval of the recently announced Norman Music Festival headlining act.

"We can't wait for Of Montreal," he said.

Cody went on to make the case that his band " the experimental metro trio Asleep, Audience "¦ Dream! " would also make a great local stage addition to the second annual festival, to be held April 25 in downtown Norman.

"We'd love an opportunity to prove our worth to the metro scene and beyond," he said. "We'll just be getting back from three-plus gigs at South by Southwest in Austin, so this would be perfect timing to rock Normantown with our weirdo-psychedelic style!"

The Oklahoma City group played an "unofficial" festival show at Norman's The Red Room last year, Cody said, adding that he and bandmates Sean Miller and Johnny Walker would be excited to play alongside Starlight Mints and other acts booked to perform this year.
