Sergios Italian Bistro
104 E. Gray, Norman 573-7707
In early August, Sergios Italian Bistro took the place of Bossy Squirrel. Just tell Sergio how hungry you are and how much you want to spend, and the staff will take care of it from there. Whether its a roasted veggie sandwich or the calamari, lasagna, baked salmon or stuffed mushrooms, you are bound to be happy. The pizza has generated some good comments, too.

This is its second location, with the first one happening at N.W. Ninth Street in Oklahoma City. Sara Sara, which opened in 2008, is named in memory of Sara Caroline Brinson, a student at Heritage Hall who died in 2007. The new shop opened right off Broadway in mid-July in a single-family renovated house where creative cupcakes are made daily without preservatives. Try the strawberry shortcake or the crimson and cream.

On Campus Corner, Thai Delight stays open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30- 9:30 p.m. The menu holds pad Thai, plus fish cakes, fried tofu and crispy squid. Also look for dishes such as chu chee jumbo shrimp, seafood black pepper, mango duck and an appealing sticky rice with mango for a nice ending.

The malls been good to us! said co-owner Brad Blevins (not pictured) of City Bites newest location at the Outlet Shoppes. After 25 years in business, you always hope to have a neverending supply of customers, and this was the perfect storm because the pizza and the Chinese place did not open, so Primos and City Bites fed some 161,000 people. To get ahead during the opening, crews started prepping at 4 a.m.

Well, they said they were going to do it, and in early August, they did. Cajun Kings first location is 5816 N.W. 63rd, and now it has a sister restaurant in Norman. The owners are accomplished chefs with a real passion for Cajun food. To complement their efforts, the owners have assembled a friendly, highly efficient dining room staff. Cajun King offers a nice buffet, but watch for changes to come.

Sisters and business partners Angel Peck and Kristin Ford arranged and catered a party for 300 Girl Scouts and discovered how much they liked the catering business. Peck began her catering career while attending Oklahoma Baptist University, while Ford was an event planner at the University of Central Oklahoma. Now the two gals keep coming up with exciting original recipes and do lovely presentations with their food.

Power walk to the door of the reliable Primos at its latest location in the new Outlet Shoppes. Lines have been long at the counter at Primos, but the risotto, shrimp, chicken and zucchini have all been excellent. Theres no pizza, but it does have a honey-cognac chicken on the menu that has proved most popular. Sara Sara cupcakes are being sold there.
