Michael Hoehn, an attorney and executive director of the Washington D.C.-based Alliance for Vigilance, spoke last week at several Oklahoma City and Edmond venues, such as the Oklahoma Conservative Political Action Committee and the High Noon Club.
Hoehn spoke to the groups about a wide range of threats from Islam, including terrorist attacks, the implementation of Shariah, or Islamic law, and efforts by the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate government.
How many of you remember where you were when you heard we had been attacked on 9/11? Hoehn asked the crowd April 29 at the High Noon Club. Do you remember what it was that you felt when you first learned we had been attacked? Were you angry? Were you shocked? Maybe a little anxious? When I heard we had been attacked, after the shock wore off, I got mad. I got fighting mad, and I wanted to do something about it.
Speaking the week before Osama bin Ladens death, Hoehn said he began searching for the truth. The speaker said he learned the al- Qaida leader was only one face of a larger movement under the Muslim Brotherhood banner that had the common goal of establishing world wide Islamic rule and Shariah law.
Documents from a foiled terror plot in which a man was allegedly plotting to blow up the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, prove this, Hoehn said.
The mission of the Brotherhood is to destroy Western civilization from within and sabotage its miserable house by their hands and the hands of believers. Let me ask you a question. What do you think they meant by the term by their hands? Hoehn said. Theyre talking about us. They have co-opted our leadership. Theyre using 1980s Soviet-style information warfare against us. We have been infiltrated. We have evidence that our government, our military, our law enforcement, virtually every level of society has been infiltrated by elements of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Muslim Brotherhood was the driving force behind the Egyptian revolution, Hoehn said.
I heard the other day that the morality police were patrolling the streets of Cairo, checking young women, doing virginity checks on them, Hoehn said. I am deeply concerned Egypt is going to become a Muslim theocracy.
Meanwhile, in the other Middle Eastern and North African countries, the Muslim Brotherhood is also playing a large role in the uprisings, he said.
If you look at the facts, if you look behind the scenes, what do you see? Hoehn asked.
Tunisia, Libya whats going on there now Egypt, Saudi Arabia has
been under attack. Syria, Qatar, Yemen all these countries. The Muslim
Brotherhood is at work behind the scenes. You dont always hear this
because theyre using these students. Its what Lenin used to call
useful idiots.
Although Hoehns presentation ranged in scope from
venue to venue, his speech at the High Noon Club, which was attended by
state Reps. Sally Kern, Mike Reynolds, former state Sen. Randy Brogdon
and a field representative from U.S. Rep. Tom Coles office, lasted for
about an hour and contained information ranging from the formation of
Islam to alleged plans to form Islamic shadow governments to step into
place once current governments have been overthrown.
Know
your enemy, know yourself. If you do, you will win the war, Hoehn
said, roughly quoting Sun Tzus The Art of War. I submit to you,
ladies and gentlemen, we do not know our enemy. And we ignore that at
our risk.
One woman in the audience asked what she should do with the information they had just received.
Weve
got to shut their schools down? Weve got to ship them out of the
country? she asked. Is that what the goal is? Because what else do we
do? Well, I could talk on that question for about an hour. Weve got
to be smart about this, Hoehn said. Theres a verse in the Bible that
says weve got to be as smart as serpents and as gentle as doves. Youve
got to understand where these people are vulnerable. Do not go after
the Muslim Brotherhood operatives themselves; they are hardcore, you
wont defeat them. Where you go after them
are our leaders that
theyre co-opting.
Saad
Mohammed, a board member of the Oklahoma City chapter for the Council
on American-Islamic Relations one of the groups Hoehn mentioned as an
unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism funding case said Hoehn was
promoting Islamophobia and racism.
Its
obvious that hes spreading hate and racism and scare tactics toward
Muslims, and hes targeting hate toward us. Were as much against
terrorism as he is, Mohammed said. I would advise him to educate
himself. He needs to get better information from better and more
reliable sources. We hate terrorism also. We cant let a small portion
of people define us all.
