Consider the saga of Vickey Sue Beyersdorfer, who in late June was distracting the congregation of Edmond’s Victory Church with her incessant tambourine playing during services.
When Beyersdorfer refused to stop making her joyful noise to the Lord, an off-duty Oklahoma County sheriff deputy laid down the law, Old Testament style. The deputy escorted her from the church. When she tried to re-enter, the officer resorted to pepper spray and, finally, a stun gun.
According to a KFOR Channel 4 news report, witnesses said the “combative Christian” was staggering and had slurred speech.
