Acting just doesn't release enough creative energy, so many screen celebrities try to make the jump from cinema to stage.
Joining the ranks of Billy Bob Thornton, Eddie Murphy and Johnny Depp is Oscar-nominated actress Juliette Lewis, who will be stopping by the Opolis in Norman on Saturday with her band The Licks.
Lewis, whose credits include "Natural Born Killers," "Cape Fear" and "From Dusk Till Dawn," has been leading The Licks since 2003, and has released three albums.
The live act currently has a tour scheduled for much of the U.S., and parts of Europe.
The music is poppy and ridiculous, but heavy on attitude and energy. And if the Internet buzz or Licks videos on YouTube are any guide, it seems clear that Lewis either will writhe all over the stage wearing either a bright-colored spandex leotard and tights, or a feather-and-headband combo she borrowed from a fourth-grade Thanksgiving skit, or " if we are lucky " both.
Tickets for the 9 p.m. show are $12 in advance or $14 at the door. For more information, call 820-0951. "Joe Wertz
