The Sooner fan accused of tearing a Texas fan's scrotum is facing trial, and it looks like it's going to be a ball-buster.
Allen Michael Beckett, 54, claims he was only defending himself from a younger man when he allegedly grasped the scrotum of Brian Thomas, 35, and tore it, according to a recent story in The Oklahoman.
But Thomas said the man assaulted him after he and a friend entered a Henry Hudsons Pub last June, the Oke reported.
It was because he was wearing that Texas Longhorns memorabilia, Thomas said in the story, and Beckett is apparently a very big fan of the Crimson and Cream.
"The second we walked in the door, a gentleman started mouthing off about my Texas Longhorns shirt," Thomas said.
According to the story, after 20 or 30 minutes, Thomas and his friend paid their tab and got ready to leave because Beckett "kept making gestures at him."
But Thomas said as he turned to walk out, Beckett attacked him, grabbing his crotch.
That reminds Chicken-Fried News of that deal with Gila monsters " you know, where they bite and don't let go until sundown.
Thomas said that during the scuffle, he heard his scrotum tear.
Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhh! That part always gets us.
According to the story, closing up the wound took 60 stitches (!), and Thomas said the injury left an "ugly scar."
The Oke reported a judge in Oklahoma County refused to reduce Beckett's assault charge " a felony " to a misdemeanor, and he will return to court on April 16 for a pretrial conference before Judge Twyla Mason Gray.
