We were surprised and disappointed to read Larry Laneer’s review “Which witch?” (Life, Performing Arts, Sept. 11, Oklahoma Gazette), in which he described this performance as a “dud,” the score as “largely forgettable” and the ending as “satisfying as watered-down cream of celery soup.”

Surely he is aware Wicked has won 35 major awards, including a Grammy and three Tony Awards. It was evident to us that every actor was fully engaged in giving his or her best performance to Oklahoma City. It is a shame to think of those who may have missed this Broadway performance because of the unkind and, I believe, inaccurate review by Laneer.
