Lyric's Thelma Gaylord Academy hosting open house for fall classes

Lyric Theatre's Thelma Gaylord Academy, which teaches children the art of musical theater and performing arts, will host an open house for its 2010 fall classes at 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 13, at its production center, 1801 N.W. 16th.

Fall classes include:
" Musical Theatre Production,
" Introduction to Musical Theatre,
" Theatre Magic,
" Acting/Character Study,
" Introduction to Music Theory,
" Ballet,
" Tap,
" Theatre Dance, and
" Dance Magic, as well as private voice and acting coaching sessions.

Starting this semester, Lyric will offer RoKademY, teaching students to create their own "rock musical," and the All-State Audition Master Class, where enrollees will learn technical aspects of the 2010-2011 Oklahoma All-State audition songs.

At the open house, parents can meet the academy staff, ask questions, sign up for auditions, learn about offered classes and enroll children.
