The latest manifestation of the Emerald City's green-eyed monster came today courtesy hip-hopper and Seattle native Macklemore, aka Ben Haggerty. On Twitter, he expressed displeasure that his latest hit song with Ryan Lewis, Can't Hold Us, has been used to energize Oklahoma City Thunder fans at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
OH HELL NO! tweeted the Thrift Shop rapper from his @macklemore handle.
That prompted a tweet from former SuperSonic Detlef Schrempf, who groused that's ours and not OKC!
Really? With Seattle's august music legacy, the song that's gonna drive a wedge belongs to the tag-poppin Macklemore? OK, Ben, message received. Maybe the Thunder fans will be able to get pumped up without the Baha Men of rap.
