Martini party to benefit Untitled gallery



A martini party Thursday night at an Oklahoma City art gallery will help fund new exhibits, so have a cocktail "¦ for art's sake.

While sipping and stirring at "An Urban Affair: Martinis in the Deuce" at Untitled [ArtSpace], 1 N.E. Third, make sure to look beneath your glass, because according to gallery directors, more than a dozen tables at the event were created by artists, architects and designers in:
" Kansas,
" Texas and
" Oklahoma.

Only 200 tickets are available to the party, which runs in conjunction with Untitled's "Dinner in the Deuce" exhibit "? which showcases the tables and practical objects turned "functional art," and runs through Feb. 23.

Each table has a different theme, ranging from sustainable living motifs in the "Farmer's Table" to swirled glowing glass illuminated by LEDs in the "Nights in White Satin" table, inspired by The Moody Blues song.

Everything in the dinner exhibit "? from the silverware to the chairs and tablecloths "? are handmade and part of the design, directors said. Money from the martini party will be directed toward new exhibitions and art programs at Untitled, admission to which is free and open to the public.

"An Urban Affair" will be held 6-9 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $100. For more information, call 815-9995 or visit their site.
