Metro area is full of sites for Halloween fright

Fall is the season of ghoulies and ghosties, and if the deluge of fright films and plastic Halloween lawn decorations isn't enough, Oklahoma City has plenty of places to get your shriek on.

Halloween's most extensive celebration in the metro is at Frontier City's annual Fright Fest, including the House of Screams, the massive haunted house that transforms picnic pavilions into room after room of blood-chilling horror.

Parents looking for educational and fun outings with their kids have plenty to choose from, including the Myriad Botanical Gardens, which will showcase a number of creepy crawlies, including snakes, centipedes and spiders.

Another option for the whole family, the educational facility and wildlife sanctuary will be investigating some of the myths surrounding nature's most chill-inducing critters.

Staff members also will lead walks through the center grounds to see what creepy creatures might be stirring.
