Blaine Cartwright, lead singer and guitarist for Nashville Pussy, said, "I consider us a pretty juvenile band. Mature means better to some people; to me, it's just like maybe you're starting to be boring."
Atlanta's Nashville Pussy is far from boring. If anything, the band goes out on a limb to produce interesting testaments to deep-fried Southern rock, where sex and drugs are applauded in song.
"I'd hate anyone to take us seriously. That would be kind of scary," he said. "They'd be crazy anyway to take us seriously."
CURRENT TOUR
On its current tour, Nashville Pussy plans to stop in cities that the band rarely sees, including a stop in Oklahoma City.
"It's been one of those places that we don't want people to think we're avoiding it," Cartwright said. "I'm from a small town in Kentucky, and I know what it's like to have bands not come to your town, and I look forward to coming back (to Oklahoma)."
NEW ALBUM
Fellow members " drummer Jeremy Thompson, bassist Karen Cuda and lead guitarist Ruyter Suys " are in the process of working on ideas for a new album tentatively to be released in 2008.
Suys is also Cartwright's wife, which he said is a rewarding experience.
