Oklahoma City business conducts Segway tours

We don't know about you, but here at CFN headquarters, we've spent many an afternoon maligning the activity of walking. It's just so overrated. Y'know what's not overrated? Standing, slouching, leaning, we dare say even lounging " now those are activities we can get behind.

Luckily, a new company agrees with us. Sure Beats Walking conducts tours of Bricktown, downtown and the Capitol complex on " wait for it " Segways. Finally! We've been looking for a way to back away creepily from people (or out of the frame while we watch a Balboa Island banana stand burn), and here it is!

Sure Beats Walking is the brainchild of Craig Margo, a retiree who got the idea while vacationing in Texas last year, according to a story in The Oke. He took a Segway tour with his wife and was hooked.

"We thought it was fantastic," he said. "It was great to get around, it was fun, and we got to see so much more of the city."

Margo now has five Segways and, besides the sightseeing tours, also offers the Segways for team-building exercises. He also wants to add hotel pick-up and drop-off. Hmmm, how about newsroom pick-up and drop-off? So often, we want Iron Starr Urban Bar-B-Q for lunch (and everybody and their dog suggests we meet them there), but with a street to cross (not to mention a large, grassy median), it's just too far.
