Oklahoma DJ puts 'monster' toast on Ebay

The eBay seller "ekrecords" prides himself as being "the best online breakbeat music source!" But recently, he achieved national recognition for being an online breakfast item source, thanks to one piece of toast.

Fox News wrote that the "unbecoming beast" known as the "Montauk Monster" appeared on a piece of toast in an Oklahoma kitchen. The monster, of course, refers to the mysterious, ghastly looking pig/dog/WTF hybrid that washed up dead in the Hamptons in July.

Ekrecords " aka the Moore-based mix DJ known as DJEK " put this unique slice of bread up for auction. His item description detailed the cryptozoological origins of the crummy food: "I was finally compelled to matriculate to the kitchen for my normal Thursday breakfast of fresh grapefruit, small bowl of raisin bran (skim milk), slightly buttered toast, coffee, and 8 ounces of pomegranite (sic) juice. "¦ But my interest and consciousness was quickly rocked to unspeakable heights when I witnessed what happened next. "¦ I was stopped in my tracks the moment I saw the ghostly impression of none other than the unbelievable montauk monster laying peacefully in the slightly charred surface of my morning toast. A wave of both horror and wonderment washed over me as I quickly understood what the bystanders that found the actual beast must have felt during those fateful seconds on the beach."

We'll laugh along with the joke, partly because it beats the old face-of-Jesus-appearing-on-blank trick. Bidding ended Aug. 8 with the toast going for $810 to brand-new eBay member "soonrboy." Another trick? We'll assume so, lest we be burned as the toast.
