Oklahoma native misspeaks during award show speech

'Twas just a couple of weeks ago that our beloved Checotah cutie Carrie Underwood was exhibiting poor judgment in appearing before millions on "American Idol" with a hairdo best described as retirement-home-ready.

Last week, she erred again in front of millions more, at April 5th's Academy of Country Music Awards, where she simultaneously picked up a trophy for Entertainer of the Year and made a sexual advance toward actor Matthew McConaughey.

McConaughey? Ewww. That's sooo 1996, Carrie.

According to Fox News, Hollywood's favorite naked-pot-smoking-and-bongo-playing thespian had regaled the audience just prior with a tale about dropping George Strait's name in order to get laid. Specifically, McC had told some ladies he was Strait's exclusive custom bootmaker.

When Underwood accepted her award from him, her acceptance speech began, "I don't know what to say. I got nothin' "¦ I want to see those boots, Matthew."

We'd have thought she'd have better taste in men " like, say, someone who looks like a shower is a priority rather than an afterthought. Oh, well. At least she was without the AARP wig.

She later apologized "¦ and just as we were digging through our closet, searching for old boots from our Tumbleweeds days.
