Now pet lovers can honor their pets and benefit a good cause, all at the same time.

Candid Color Systems is donating 100 percent of proceeds from its recently launched Pics Saving Pets website to the Central Oklahoma Humane Society.

Under the initiative, pet owners can upload photographs of their animals — with or without themselves in the pics — which then are integrated into various products available for purchase. Those items can include iPhone cases, mouse pads and T-shirts.

“This is sort of a test with the Central Oklahoma Humane Society to see what people are interested in,” said Linda Coe of

Oklahoma City-based Candid Color Systems.

Christy Counts, president of the Central Oklahoma Humane Society, said the initiative can help her organization move toward an ambitious goal.

“[Candid Color] came to us because this is a national product they’re looking at launching, and they wanted to try it out locally first to make sure it worked,” she said. “We will adopt out around 2,500 to 3,000 animals this year, and we probably need to raise about $450,000 to care for all of the animals in our program.”
