“Straight Talk” is a locally developed, nationally recognized program aimed at 11- to 13-year-olds, designed to let parents be the primary sexuality educators of their children. With the assistance of a trained facilitator, the four-session course provides an opportunity for parents and children to discuss values and beliefs, share concerns and communicate about sexuality.

“Since many pre-teens are hesitant to discuss issues in relation to their budding sexuality and changing bodies, ‘Straight Talk’ provides a relaxed and fun environment for families to discuss these often uncomfortable topics,“ said Courtney Peters, PPCO community health educator.

The bilingual program is funded by the Kirkpatrick Family Fund.
