Up and coming art aficionados can add to their collections affordably by browsing more than 200 pieces by local artists at the Individual Artists of Oklahoma's third annual "Money Talks, Art Walks" event on Saturday at IAO Gallery, 706 W. Sheridan.

To be eligible to win one of the pieces on display at the 7 p.m. auction, attendees have the option to buy "Money Talks" tickets for three pools: $100, $75 or $50. There is no limit on how many tickets people may buy in any or all the pools.

During the auction, the master of ceremonies will begin the three groups of random drawings with $100, followed by the $75 pool and then $50. One ticket will be drawn for each of the 200 pieces of art on display. Each time a ticket is pulled, its holder will have 30 seconds to pick from the remaining unclaimed artworks. Anonymous until after purchase, the pieces include two-dimensional pieces like paintings, drawings, photos and monoprints; are no larger than a standard sheet of office paper; and are unframed and unmatted.

"The first year was a hit and (the auction) is an intriguing concept. It is very high-energy and a lot of fun," said Jeff Stokes, IAO executive director. "Some of the best artists across Oklahoma have donated one of their pieces and we want as many people to come and take them."

Admission is $10. Hors d'oeuvres will be provided. For more information, call 232-6060 or visit "?LeighAnne Manwarren
