Reception set for landscape art exhibit in Norman

Whether rain or shine, enjoy the landscape from indoors this month with an exhibit of Patricia Hurst Allen's artwork entitled "Landscape & Memories." A variety of Allen's landscape paintings will adorn the walls of the Norman Arts Council gallery through November.

"The memories of people in my life, and my travels, the scenes from the great outdoors, of gardens, add up to make the title of this show 'Landscapes and Memories,'" Allen said in a press release.

RECEPTION
NAC invites everyone to join Allen for wine and hors d'oeuvres at the exhibit's opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the NAC gallery, 220 E. Main, in Norman.
Allen uses painting as a fine art for creative expression, and she enjoys painting all aspects of nature.

"I paint in a loose impressionistic style," she said. "Landscapes of trees, water, mountains, plains, flowers, rocks, all challenge me to paint what I see and feel."

The NAC gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
