To boldly go where relatively few have gone before (um, except for the likes of Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders), Oklahoma City Thunder guard Nate Robinson could try out for the NFL. Maybe.

“I might go play football,” Robinson told SLAM ONLINE. “Do something that nobody’s tried to do.”

The 5-9 Robinson had a football scholarship at the University of Washington and played cornerback for one season with the Huskies. His father also played college football, so his Plan B for the lockout isn’t completely out of left field.

“If I can, I would love to play football a little bit,” Robinson reportedly said. “I’ve been doing a little bit of training.”

That’s not all Nate has been doing this summer. Police in White Plains, N.Y., caught Robinson urinating in public in June. He tweeted that he’d made a “silly mistake” and apologized to fans.

Were Thunder officials pissed? A team spokesman said the franchise was aware of the incident in the New York City suburb but had no comment.
