The Wedge
4709 N. Western 602-3477

Its antipasto is a sure winner. Wedge acquires in-season roasted beets, fennel, sweet potatoes and red potatoes that are from the community or grown in their very own garden. Talk about local! The platter holds Italian-cured meat, kalamata olives and two other perfect accompaniments: fresh mozzarella and rich and creamy Gorgonzola.

Bin 73
7312 N. Western 843-0073

Loaded with impressive hors d’oeuvres, Bin 73’s no-nonsense green chili queso is the top draw by its devotees, simply because it is so tasty. The roasted red pepper hummus and its homemade spring rolls get the nod, too. Brand new at the popular Bin 73 is its mezze platter, with a selection of sublime Middle Eastern appetizers.

The Shack Seafood & Oyster Bar
303 N.W. 62nd 608-4333

Knock ’em dead by offering alligator as an appetizer. There are two gator options here: one is deep-fried and it comes with a cream gravy that staff says is absolutely sinful. Or, ask for the blackened version that is paired with a lemon-butter sauce. Note that all hot (not the cold oysters) appetizers are half-off Monday-Friday from 2 to 6 p.m.

Gopuram
4559 N. W. 23rd 948-7373

For devoted vegetarians,
owner Veeral Mehta of Gopuram said he has spinach pakoras that will pair
up with wine from any part of the world, whether the wine is dry or
sweet. They’ve added a Vegetarian Croquit, done with Indian herbs and
spices and its Vegetarian Manchurian with a fusion of Chinese and
Indian. How quick, easy and delicious could that be?

Let’s Do Greek
180 W. 15th, Edmond 285-8905

If it is warm enough,
gather in your own backyard and watch the sun set. Nibble on appetizers
from Let’s Do Greek that could include a sample plate of feta cheese,
kalamata olives, pepperoncini peppers or get the veggie combo and choose
from hummus, dolma and more. Owners Marsha and Gleen Aguilar are
stocking an interesting yogurt soda that is an acquired taste, but you
will love it.

Kyles 1025
1025 N.W. 70th 840-0115

Owner Kyle Anderson said the housemade
artichoke dip is the most requested item by regular patrons. “They buy
it by the gallon,” Anderson said. The chefs can custom build a cheese
tray, and it’s best to stick with items that can be served at room
temperature, rather than anything deep-fried. Even its smoked salmon can
be made to go. Think of takeout for Thanksgiving, too.
