uses a blend of 100 percent real cheese that includes mozzarella, provolone and Cheddar. Like many other pizza joints, the most popular pizza is the pepperoni and cheese by the slice. You can find that on the buffet, but they will sell you a couple of slices if you want. The crust is a crisp cracker variety, and the sauce is just a little spicier than others you may find around town.

Pisa by the Slices solid pie includes a Mediterranean version for all of the healthy eaters out there. Its topped with pesto sauce, spinach, artichokes, sundried tomatoes and kalamata olives with feta cheese and mozzarella. The cooks here offer several other credible selections by the slice, too. has been open almost a year, but the doors stay closed on Sundays.

Right on the corner of Main and Broadway, has pizza slices on its buffet, plus boxes to make it easy to stop by and grab a couple of slices to go. Standards such as pepperoni and cheese, the supreme and the vegetarian are all on the buffet. All sauces and crusts are made daily, and owner Hassan Daneshmand says the sauces are not spicy at all.

The food is good quality, said Sandro Osmani, one of the owners of this family business that went to great lengths to bring mighty fine pizza to Norman. Osmani said that everything is made fresh each day, and they are doing their own sauces and using a whole-milk mozzarella. The pizza that tops the charts with most requests is the pepperoni and cheese.

Its hard work, but we are doing it the old-fashioned way; we cook it properly with nothing pre-made, daily dough, our own pizza sauce and Wisconsin mozzarella cheese. A second location is in Edmond.
