For what it’s worth, here’s a vague idea of what’s cookin’ at the Capitol!

SB 14: Sen. Josh Brecheen, R-Coalgate: Repealing Art in Public Places Act and the Art in Public Places Revolving Fund and the Art in Public Places Administrative and Maintenance Revolving Fund.

SB 37: Sen. Jim Wilson, D-Tahlequah: Sex education; requiring sex education curricula to be medically accurate. (What, no more “willie” and “muffin”?)

SB 39: Sen. Jim Wilson, D-Tahlequah: Contraceptive drugs; requiring pharmacies to dispense contraceptive drugs. (Apparently Wilson thinks all lawfully obtained prescriptions should be treated equally. How novel!)

SB 63: Sen. Patrick Anderson, R-Enid: Head injuries in youth athletes; permitting religious exemption for required examination. (Will it be concussion or creed, sonny?)

SB 73: Sen. Judy Eason McIntyre, D-Tulsa: State gospel song; declaring “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” as the official state gospel song. (Shoot, we don’t have one of these already?)

SB 114: Sen. Susan Paddack, D-Ada: Municipal ordinances; prohibiting fine for illegal placement of campaign sign in excess of certain amount. (Paddack wants to prohibit cities from charging more than it actually costs to remove the signs. Um, doesn’t this defeat the point of the fine?)

HJR 1003: Rep. Mike Reynolds, R-Oklahoma City: Joint Resolution removing certain names from State Capitol rotunda (Could the ever-tenacious Reynolds be continuing his call to remove convicted felon and former state legislator Gene Stipe’s name from the Capitol dome engraving? Stay tuned!)

*What’s up with our state’s lower chamber? They are seriously underrepresented in this list. Apparently the House is showing restraint; nah, they’re just prolonging the suspense.
