Oklahomans love going to the picture show. And this summer, the movies themselves are full of Oklahomans!
Consider this, while you stand in line for an $8 tub of popcorn:
Duncan-born Ron Howard " always Opie, in CFN's cold, black heart " followed up his controversial "The Da Vinci Code" with May's hit sequel, "Angels & Demons." Tulsa's "Saturday Night Live" star Bill Hader plays Major Gen. George Custer in May's "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian." Shawnee son Brad Pitt will headline Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" in August, as a lieutenant seeking Nazi scalps. (By the way, the title's double misspelling is on purpose, although with our state's dropout rates, we forgive you if you didn't even realize it was incorrect.)
Sooner State stars won't fade with summer, either! Fall brings Tulsa's Amber Valletta in "Gamer," Oklahoma City's James Marsden in "The Box" and Megan Mullally in the "Fame" remake.
All this box-office hubbub makes CFN think Chuck Norris is missing out. Can't he rush a "Delta Force" sequel into production?
