The Hills have eyes

To promote historic preservation within Oklahoma City, what better way than to see some examples firsthand? For more than four decades, Heritage Hills has held a self-guided tour of some of the historic neighborhood’s homes and gardens to do just that.

Its 46th annual tour takes place Saturday and Sunday, featuring five private homes, as well as St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and Overholser Mansion.

The latter, located at 405 N.W. 15th, serves as “Tour Central,” with tickets and maps, plus gift sales on the lawn and sandwiches and pastries from Ingrid’s Kitchen.

Located just north of downtown and bordered roughly between N.W. 13th and 22nd streets, Heritage Hills is home to many restored oil mansions and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
