rn Materials" exhibit isn't stitched with tradition.
"It's not craft work," Burris said. "It's definitely fine art."
The show includes 24 innovative pieces from 33 artists who hail from California to New York. One of the works is an operational Ferris wheel complete with miniature figures in its cars that are made entirely of quilt, Burris said.
Some hang on the wall flat like traditional quilts, but others, like the Ferris wheel, are three-dimensional. Burris said it is rare for an exhibit to fill the expansive Untitled gallery, but many "Modern Materials" pieces are several square feet in size.
